Go Higher - The Holy Spirit is calling the Church to rise above the clamour of news and outrage spinning through social media. He is saying “go higher!” So pray for the Church to stay engaged with current events, without being defiled or discipled by the spirit of the world.
USA - We are called to love our neighbours, let’s love our neighbour to the south through intercession. Stand in the gap for America with its looming election, racial strife, wildfires, and high levels of Covid infection. Pray for the Church in America to be revived in the gospel, to be filled with the Spirit and the love of God, and so be used as rebuilders in this hour (Isa 61:4).
Wisdom - Cry out for wisdom from above! Ask the Lord for the Canadian Church to be filled with God’s wisdom, rather than drawing on natural, earthly wisdom (Jas 3:15-17). It’s time to be wise master builders (1 Cor 3:10). More on this...
Gather - In the Covid shutdown it was as if we were in a “cocoon” season, where the Lord was doing deep work in our hearts and lives. For many He restored prayer, sabbath rest, engaging with the scriptures, and the priority of family. Now we are being called to regather, to come out of the “cocoon” using wisdom and care. Pray for churches that are making this shift, pray for those who have disengaged from their churches, that they would be reconnected, and pray for the power of the Spirit to be poured out in our midst as we gather.
Endurance - While it’s easy to tell each other “don’t grow weary in well-doing”, many are weary. Let’s instead intercede. It’s the Lord who grants endurance (Rom 15:5) and the Lord who strengthens the weary (Isa 40:29), we need Him. Intercede especially for pastors who have found this season exhausting.
